Thank you for your support

Dear All

It is with great regret that I have decided to resign from the Chair of the Parents Association. The decision did not come lightly and I leave with a heavy heart. However I also leave you with a strong committee. Your new chair will be announced shortly.
Thank you all for your support over the past 14 months: I couldn't have been successful without your help. The new committee will make themselves know to you in due course, although Lisa will carry on as treasurer.

Best regards and thanks again.

Parents Association AGM

We had a really good turn-out with many new faces happy and eager to help out with the PA this year. We have lots of people on the committee now who will work with me in giving your child a happy year while we raise lots of money to buy the luxuries. I have just purchased a white board for the school which cost £2,000.00. I have also just paid for Mr Kelly's science project which gets the whole school involved, costing £400. We shall continue to fund the other little things, i.e. santa at christmas, etc. Without your generosity and support none of this would have been possible. It does leave my coffers very short, especially for christmas, so I thank you in anticipation of your continued support.

If you would like to get involved in any of our events then please do grab me in the playground or feel free to email me. The office will gladly give you my contact numbers.

Have a look at the PA section of the website and you will see our new committee members names displayed. As you can see we have some vacancies for class reps, so if you're interested..........

AGM 25th September 2009

Welcome back! That went quickly didn't it?

We shall be holding our AGM on Friday, 25th September at 8.40am in the small hall. It would be nice if you could come along and show support. This way you can not only get a free cup of coffee and a biscuit but you will also be able to hear our ideas for next year. A lot of people had very good ideas over the past year but only aired their views when an event had taken place, so if you feel strongly about something or can offer your services to us or want to be sociable but you don't actually want to do anything that's fine, come along anyway. I promise not to rope you in to something you don't want to do.

With regard to second hand uniform we shall be having our coffee mornings with the uniform on display but at a time when most people can remember, say, the last Friday of every month. More on that after the AGM. Please don't ask me to find you any uniform in between our coffee mornings. We really do have hundreds of duffle coats, blazers, trousers, dresses, etc. and rummaging around in the shed looking for a particular size is enough to make any normal human being swear (unless of course its an emergency like a lost coat or torn blazer - then I won't mind).

Thanks for reading and see you around.

X-Factor

Thank you to all of you who came along to our X-Factor evening on Saturday and to all those wonderful children of ours who participated. It wasn't easy standing on stage singing in front of everybody, but I can assure all those who did that you really gave us a lovely evening. Everybody was clapping and generally making a complete din. It was wonderful.

Congratulations to the final 4, who have earned their house some valuable points. Congratulations to Sophie & Tyler who came first place to win a massive amount of House points and a chance to sing at our school concert on Saturday. I can't wait to see you again.

Apart from our serving tea and coffee at the summer fete tomorrow that was the last of the events planned this term. I shall be announcing the AGM for the end of September as soon as we get back, so if you have any ideas that you would like to put to the committee or you would like to help or get involved, please come along to our AGM. If you don't want to be part of the committee but would still like to be involved occasionally, that's fine, just come along to the AGM and I promise I will not give you a title!

Any support or help you can give us is greatly appreciated. At the moment the committee consists of Lisa & myself which isn't easy. We've had a good year and we want another one next year, but we can only do this if we continue to have your help and support.

Have a fantastic summer!

X-Factor

You should all by now have received your letter home about the X-Factor on Saturday evening. I have only sold tickets to two families so far, so either nobody is coming or there will be a rush at the last minute. Don't forget we have Bewilderwood on Friday, so I won't be picking up your cheque then. Please, if possible, can you drop off your cheque and order form either this evening or tomorrow. If it really is impossible to do this but you still want to come then, don't worry, just turn up (with your cheque!!!) on the night. It will be easier if I knew how many people are coming so that I can get the right amount of tables out, so just send me a text on 07595 218837.

Many thanks
Anne

X-Factor

There have been quite a few people approaching me in the playground over the last couple of days to enquire whether they are in time for the x-factor and various other requests, queries and lost forms.

I have therefore decided to extend the date for entries until Tuesday, 2nd June. This gives your child over the break to come up with something. But if your child really does want to enter but is dithering a bit, perhaps you wouldn't mind giving them a nudge. Mrs Barber and I have lots to do when we get back from the break in it's organisation and late entries will be such a pain in the neck, so please please no entries after this date. Forms are in the office if you have lost yours.

Please feel free to email me on annenorthfield@fual.co.uk if you have any queries or telephone me on 07595 218837. We are being very flexible with songs, timings, etc. so don't worry.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Anne

Children's May Ball

Thank you to all the mums, dads and grandmas who helped out on Saturday at the May Ball. As always, your help is always appreciated and never taken for granted.

The children had a wonderful time. The venue was fab and so was the entertainer. I do have his card if you are interested; he really was very good indeed.

The star prize for the raffle was a chocolate fountain. Well done to that child but I don't envy the poor mum who has to clear up the mess afterwards. I've done it myself and it's very messy indeed. My advice is to do it naked and have a bath ready to jump into. The kids, obviously, not you!

Personally, I thought the May Ball works better than the christmas party, as there is already so much going on at christmas that it's nice to leave a party until a bit later, give the children something to look forward to. Also the PA are so hectic at christmas that it just lightens the load a little. I also thought it went on half an hour too long. What do you think? I would be interested to hear your thoughts on both aspects.

I am also chuffed that Mr & Mrs Carn and Mr Gladwin came. It does show unity amongst the children, teachers and parents. I'm looking forward to the photographs.

Bye for now!
